Assistant Director of Alumni Networks and Constituent Programs - Now Hiring

Amherst College invites applications for the Assistant Director of Alumni Networks and Constituent Programs position.
The Assistant Director of Alumni Networks and Constituent Programs is a full-time, year-round position, starting at $62,776 per year - commensurate with experience.

The Assistant Director is responsible for planning and executing alumni and constituent events in regions around the US, internationally, as well as on campus.
This integral position works as part of a team, closely collaborating with the Director of Alumni Networks and Constituent Programs, the Director of Strategic Alumni Engagement and peers and colleagues across Advancement and the College.
Collectively, the team designs and delivers a cohesive engagement program for over 200 Amherst events each year.
Events require occasional evening and weekend hours.
The person in this role is expected to work as part of a collaborative and inclusive team including taking appropriate actions to support a diverse workforce and participating in the College's efforts to create a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming work environment.
In addition, all advancement staff members are required to support and staff marquis-level events such as Reunion, Homecoming, and Family Weekend.
As with the position's regular events, these three events require some evening and weekend hours.
Summary of
Responsibilities:
Directs all regional volunteer operations for Amherst College's 39 regional networks.
Oversee all activities and messaging for over 9200
alumni.
Support a diverse and engaging program of events and activities in coordination with regional volunteers and college staff;Recruit, train, and direct approximately 80-120 regional volunteers.
Align regional volunteer efforts with the College's strategic planning goals for intellectual, social, and civic engagement with key groups including young alumni, international alumni and affinity groups.
Oversee the annual Amherst/Williams football game telecast and watchparty initiative - Including coordinating efforts with rival Williams College, overseeing the marketing efforts for both the game and telecast component, and coordinating the 50
watch parties around the country and internationally, supporting a 137 year tradition and rivalry.
Track, analyze, and report metrics for the Alumni Networks and Constituent Programs team.
Use data informed strategies to drive decision-making and to allocate resources for greatest possible impact;Draft, edit, and review a large volume of invitations/communications in support of regional events;Travel to staff programs and events, including regional events across the country; Collaborate with and support a variety of partners on and off campus.
Qualifications:
RequiredBachelor's degree with 2-4 years relevant experience;Strong commitment to the goals of a liberal arts education and to the importance of the College's relationship with its many constituents; Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with volunteers and donors and to positively represent the College;Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks, assess priorities and track details in fast-paced environment; Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively, to achieve goals with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service;Demonstrated relationship-building skills across a diverse set of constituents, initiative, and curiosity;Database experience, proficient in Google Software Suite, Excel and Word; and ability to quickly and effectively learn new software;Exhibit integrity in dealing with confidential information;The ability to work occasional evenings and weekends, and travel domestically to visit with prospects and volunteers and facilitate events throughout the year and as necessary.
PreferredBachelor's degree with 3-5 years relevant experience.
