Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Engineer's role is to support the manufacturing processes in the factory by establishing standards, developing job aids, improving assembly processes to deliver an on-time quality product to the customer.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and improve manufacturing methods utilizing knowledge of product design, assembly techniques and quality controls
Evaluate work cell layouts to improve manpower utilization, workflow and floor space utilizing Lean techniques
Develop job aids which include tooling, fixtures and visuals by working with internal resources as well as external vendors
Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods, establishing standards and validating manufacturing process
Develop complete and accurate documentation of existing manufacturing processes as well as new product introductions
Embrace and follow the standard work practices developed for manufacturing engineering
Apply Basic Engineering Principles
Utilize 6 Sigma Problem Solving Methods
Participate in the investigation and response to customer quality excursions
Work within the procedures set forth in Nordson ICS ISO-9001 instructions
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
Detail-oriented, self-starter with strong communication and organizational skills. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to multi-task and work collaboratively as well as independently in a dynamic environment.
The required qualifications are as follows:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering
0-3 years experience in manufacturing engineering
PREFERRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including Access)
Working knowledge of AutoCad or SolidWorks
SAP experience desired
SPC experience desired
Greenbelt Certification preferred
