Eye Care Tech - Per Diem - Willing to train Medical Assistant

Valley Medical Group is seeking a personable, reliable, detail oriented, Per Diem Eye Care Technician to work at our Amherst Medical Center location! Position:?Eye Care Technician ? Per Diem Location:?Amherst, MA?(Applicant must be able to travel to our Greenfield Health Center & Northampton Health Center if needed) Responsibilities: Reporting directly to the Eye Care Coordinator, the Eye Care Technician is responsible for supporting the provider to assure that all of the patients eye care needs are addressed at every visit. Duties for this role include: preparation of patients for the office visit by taking medical history, visual acuity (distance and near), checking eye muscles, color vision, peripheral vision, stereo vision, checking pupillary reaction, doing medication reconciliation and reviewing allergies.
As the Eye Care Technician you will also be responsible for preparing charts for the next day's schedule, labeling, scanning and checking eye notes, adding ticklers, making follow up appointments, and faxing notes to specialists.
In this role as the Eye Care Technician you will be responsible for performing automated and manual testing using Lensometer, Auto Refractor, Visual Field Analyzer, Heidelberg Retinal Topography, Slit lamp and Retinal Photography.
Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years' experience as Medical Assistant, or 2 years' experience as an eye care technician, certification preferred. CPR certified. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
